Compared to any of our other senses, our sense of smell is directly linked to the part of the brain where emotions and memories are processed. Unlike hearing something or seeing something or even physically feeling something, when we smell, it immediately triggers sensations and moods.
Researches have found that good smells, in fact, make you happy, boost your energy and increase your focus. They have the potential to transform your brain positively.
Fragrances are directly linked to your emotions, they can instantly transform you to feel a sense of glamour, mystery, and history. History!! Yes, smells can bring back your past memories.
Smells can bring back your past memories
You’re walking through a hardware store one day when all of a sudden you catch a whiff of something you haven’t smelled in years. Somehow the scent of glue immediately takes you back to your kindergarten classroom. And you spend the next couple of minutes wondering what happened to that kid who used to love you so much. You just experience what’s known as odor-evoked autobiographical memory but it simply a smell made you remember something from your past and it happened because of the way smells and memories are hardwired into your brain.
So, what is the best place than your home to smell good all the time! A place peculiar to emotions and relationships.
